Some hospitals are better at treating specific conditions than others. The Hospital Comparison Program is an information tool developed to share information about relative hospital quality and cost for various medical conditions or procedures. Through myuhc.com, members can view information about a facility's relative quality and/or cost involving approximately 50 inpatient conditions/procedures. The Hospital Comparison Program includes information for general acute care hospitals. Children's hospitals and other specialty facilities, such as rehabilitation hospitals, are not included in the program.
The hospital's quality results are displayed, from lower to higher, as one, two or three stars.
Cost information is reported at the condition or procedure level in one of three categories: "lower than average," "average" or "higher than average" compared to the local market.
To use the Hospital Comparison Program tool, simply go to myuhc.com and click on "Find Physician or Facility."
