Waiving cost-share for Medicare Advantage

Your health is our priority. To help you get the primary care needed, we are extending our cost-share waiver, as outlined below.

With UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage plans, you will have a $0 copay for primary care professional services through Dec. 31, 2020. This applies to both in-office and telehealth visits with in-network and out-of-network visits.

If you get additional services during your visit to your primary care provider, such as labs, diagnostic tests, or Part B drugs, cost-sharing will apply as determined by your benefit plan.

Cost-sharing for non-primary care telehealth and office-based services will be processed according to your benefit plan as of Oct. 1, 2020. You will be responsible for any copay, coinsurance and deductible, according to your benefit plan.

Why primary care visits are important

Getting regular checkups may help keep you healthy and make it easier for your doctor to catch issues or illnesses early, when they may be more treatable. During your visit, your primary care provider (PCP) should check your blood pressure, height and weight, and address your overall well-being.

You will likely be able to schedule your primary care visit in the provider’s office or through a telehealth visit, where you can talk to your provider through a video visit in your home. This is a great opportunity to help you create your plan of care from the safety and comfort of your home.
